As a fun project outside of work I designed a wireless phone charger that doubled as an alarm clock and bluetooth stereo. I spent some time conceptualizing the design on paper and in CAD and then went straight to prototyping. I manufactured and assembled everything in my garage. It took a couple iterations to get the bluetooth stereo just right. I went through a few different speaker and amplifier combinations to get the sound perfected. The clock was designed so that you can set your phone right on top of it to charge using wireless charging.
